Inaugural round table conference of Drive India Enterprise Solutions' ‘Captains of Logistics' series held in Kolkata

Drive India Enterprise Solutions (DIESL), a Tata enterprise (joint venture between Tata Industries and Tata International), had organised a round table conference in Kolkata, on July 15, 2010. The conference was part of ‘Captains of Logistics’ — a series of multi-city round table conferences by thought leaders from the industry, from respective regions, contemplating the various challenges faced by the logistics arena.
 
The inaugural chapter was held in Kolkata and discussed the following topics:
  • Kolkata: The emerging SC and logistics hub of Eastern India
  • Logistics outsourcing
The conference which was held at the Park Hotel was presided over by Ajay Chopra, CEO, DIESL. Says Mr Chopra, “This unique series of multi-city round table conferences, which began in Kolkata, will be followed by Guwahati, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Chennai and a grand finale in Mumbai. The conclusions from these conferences will be published and presented in form of a memorandum to the Government of India. Logistics outsourcing, GST implementation and implication, cost-effective logistics solutions, green supply chain are some of the topics to be debated at the round table.”
